That much corrosion in the boiler is an indication the system is set up wrong and the steam vents weren't functioning. A change in the system is in order. As it is a two-pipe system, water traps from each radiator dropping below the return main would help. You can see how that is done at the Hoffman site PDF drawings.

Your radiators are piped in and out at the bottom. See if the radiators can be repiped so the supplies are at the top with a cross manifold in the tops of the radiators and the return is at the bottom for changing to a water system. If the pipes are good then changing to a water system would be better.

Your boiler and piping killer is fresh oxygen coming in to replace lost water and steam. Sealing the system away from fresh oxygen can prevent another boiler short life.
