Creating a loop like than with a section of baseboard would cause air to trap. You'd need an air vent at the top of the rad.

Heat tape is just an electrical cable that generates some resistance heat like a heating pad. It's often used to wrap pipes so they don't freeze. Most have a built in thermostat so it won't turn on unless it gets cold out.


I thought you might be able to fish it along the horizontal and vertical piping. Just like runnign romex, I thought you might be able to snake some fish tape along the pipes then pull the heat tape through the wall.
