Hi HeatPro,

Thanks for sharing your experience.

It sounds like your coarse estimates show the current 117K BTU Raypak and 1/6 HP motor are properly sized for the piping and load. Your data would not show much performance and little efficiency value in a higher BTU 92% AFUE or bigger pump.

I would have guessed a slightly larger 0.20 or 0.25 HP stainless steel pump and a 140K BTU high efficiency boiler would make the home more comfortable based upon our experience living in the house, and believing that original equipment is often undersized for cost.

Two radiant experts sneer at our still-functioning 39 year old boiler, shake their heads, and hint that it’s time to upgrade. We’d rather do this during the summer than the busy, high price winter rush. Any quality, reliability, or functionality comparison data on the Munchkin or Weil-McLain Ultra is valuable to us. I just do not believe that all gas boilers are created equal. The next size down Weil-McLain Ultra 105 seems too small to me, but I have no experience in this field.
