As discussed before, half-inch lines are not subject to gravity flow (The precaution might be about one 3/4 or larger zone pipe, but then, most installers use multiple circulators for larger zones that need much flow to use large pipes. Without specifying in which system swing-checks might be used, it is just confusing to the novice. Swing-checks can be noisy, thus, flow-control valves are recommended instead of swing-checks in residences. No, most systems don't require that instruction, especially European-style two-pipe systems.
