I don't quite understand the operation of the zone valve in relation to gravity flow. If the supply is located in the basement, and the zone valve is placed at base of a riser to a convector (for example a 3/4" pipe three stories high), could the water "backflow" or flow back through the zone valve. Is so, where is the best placement for the zone valve in this example, assuming there is room in the convector cabinet for placement.
