If it is a system that doesn't have zone valves or more than one zone, then it won't matter if the circulator runs all the time. My circulators have run constantly for 20 years without a problem up until the time they quit once a decade. The fact that you notice it runs probalby means that it is the type where you can hear the coupling between the motor and pump body. New circulators that are sealed usually aren't heard and you wouldn't normally notice. Circulators with couplings that run all the time tend to last longer because they are constantly lubricated and don't slam the couplings starting and stopping.
