... also have the other water in the house to worry about. Toilet tanks and bowls, sink traps, domestic hot/cold piping and system in basement. Split boiler, water pump/tank etc. Refrigerators will not work well if at all in cold. If you make a habit of leaving for two weeks, a backup unvented LP space heater that uses no electric may be a good idea if you are not on Nat Gas. A temperature alarm could alert someone via modem (oil company?), or hire someone to check on house once a day. A temperature operated switch could turn on a light in a certain window to alert a neighbor.
