Are there any rules of thumb for replacing a boiler? This unit is in good repair, but I'm not sure what its normal life expectancy should be. Also, I'm not sure of its exact age and if that could be determined. That said, I certainly understand your calculations regarding ball-parking a price and your recommendation to get three estimates. Also, are there any other system modifications (per current standards) that would be worth consideration...thank you again for your and all replies.
