No response from McDonnell & Miller - need help

I've contacted McDonnel & Miller twice via their online inquiry form (I can't call during normal business hours) and have yet to receive a response, so I'm turning to this forum for help.

I have one of their (M&M) low water cutoff switches (Model 11 for a Series 767 unit) on our steam boiler and have had multiple problems with it since the new boiler was installed in May 2001. This is the second replacement switch and my original contractor could not fix it last time.

The switch used to get stuck in the "water demand" mode, flooding my boiler (and twice, the first floor radiators). I disassembled the switch, lubricated it and rotated everything 180 degrees, so now it sticks in the "low water - don't fire" mode, resulting in an occasional cold morning unless I manually keep the boiler water above the automatic "add water" line. Long story short, I don't want to replace it with another that will give me grief after 6 months of use.

I found out that these switches were the replacement for a mercury-containing switch M&M made at one time. Are the mercury switches still available? Is there an alternative to these junky non-mercury switches? Thanks for you help.
