Most gas boilers don't have tankless coils, so they usually don't have controls that keep the water up to 180F. That seems like it is the wrong control so you don't want a new one of those gizmos.

If you have the wrong gizmo that lets you cool the water to 140F, then the circulator turns on, then the gizmo is miswired.

Time to get somebody in that knows how zizmos are supposed to be wired to work the right way instead of getting new gizmos of the wrong type.
