The smell is from oil mixed in with the water from the installation. It is NOT fuel oil. The boiler water needs to be cleaned. Just draining it does not take care of it. We call this skimming or blowing down. Most tech's use a chemical to do this. I am sure Weil Mclain has a procedure for this action.
