"The system is heated with a 60 gallon electric hot water tank. For the past month the circulating pump has been making a noise and the hot water tank release valve opens and more then a bucket of water is released in a 24 hour period."

A. Does the water heater also heat domestic hot water for the house? If so, you will never get rid of air. A system that is not heating fresh water does not have to be drained.

B. The circulator is making noise. What brand and model is it? Is it cast iron or brass. Cast iron rusts in fresh water systems.

C. Relief valve dumping is from a failed expansion tank or overheating. Which is it, or both?
