Steam/Hot water question

We have converted from steam to hot water. There are 3 main supply lines that feed the radiators. Where these supply lines go up into the house there is an uninsulated pipe coming from the bottom of these 3 supply lines that goes back to the return on the boiler. I assume these carried condensate back the boiler when the system was steam. Would it be best to elminate these uninsulated pipes since they are now carrying hot water right back to the boiler instead of running thru any radiators?
