I am installing the hot water system now, some of the pipes are going thru unheated space and I don't feel comfortable with just pipe insulation. Someone told me to either add antifreeze to system, or just keep water circulating at all times, with a low limit aquastat at to set to 50 degrees. I will have 5 zones and 5 circulators.
Question (1): if I choose to keep water recirculating above 50F, how much energy is wasted keeping the water temp to 50F during a one month cold spell? Is it negligible or is it more than negligible.

Question (2) would I keep all 5 circulators running?

Question (3) someone told me that antifreeze fumes could seep into house thru air valves. Is that true, i have small children and would not want them exposed to that
