No need to guess. The number of oil gallons used is a definite amount of btu's for a given cost. Knowing the AFUE would be similar in either case, the difference between the two is the difference in cost per btuh of the gas. There is no significant savings in shutting down the oil boiler if the boiler were to stay able to fire to heat an indirect tank.
