Ah yes. But, is the top of the chimney at least 2 feet higher or more than a horizontal line drawn ten feet from the nearest surface of the roof? The top might be 12 feet from the peak; but it could be 6 feet from a horizontal line drawn from the sloped roof surface. This would place it into a positive pressure area of the roof.

Also a chimney running up the outside of the house is not surrounded by the warm rooms, so it is colder and has to heat more to establish a draft.
