IT is not as efficient to make hot water with a separate gas water heater as to use the tankless coil in the boiler. Your hot water is wasted in a steam boiler after the heating cycle. This extra wasted heat could be used to heat your water. For that reason the tankless coils were sold as FREE HOT WATER when they first weere used.

The boiler is already hot amd ready for hot water. No need to add another vessel to stay hot 24 hrs per day 365 days per year at 65 percent efficiency.
