It is not in the interest of owners of single-zone systems to add sensors to run the heat from other rooms. It could make a 'war of the stats' condition where one would run aropund the house trying to find out which stat is in control by whom.

Multi-zone systems where different temperature areas are controlled by dampers or zone valves is the usual use for more than one thermostat. Some controller manufacturers do use treansmitting thermostats for that purpose.
