Still impossible to even suggest a cost over the web. Think of the variables: Is this Manhattan or a town in Maine? How much repiping must be done?

As to the size: you're probably good with an 80 gal replacing 2 50's. The boiler size must still be calculated. But again too many variables: are walls and floors shared with other apartments or exposed to the elements. Brick walls with no insulation? Large old uninsulated windows?

We realy can't give you an answer to any of these questions over the net. Just make sure your contractor works out these numbers and just doesn't add the fire ratings of the 2 old boilers together to come up with a size!
