Just got a quote to replace and older(1990) Crown boiler that is rusting -VERY hot air comes out the back and our oil rep said it should be replaced. Just had a quote to replace with Weil McLlain Cga-4 105,000 btu, remove oil tank (275 gallon) and install steel liner in chimney. There is some plumming work thats needed-valves/expantion tank ect. Quote was ~7300. I know the retail price for the boiler is $1600, the additional plumming supplies would be around $400, the tank removal costs $500(neighbor had done 2 months ago for this price). I have no idea what a chimney liner costs-maybe $500? Does this quote still seem very high? I was expecting a quote around $4500 to $5000 (labor/profit of ~$2000).
The rep said that the work would all be done in one day. Any opinions?
