I think/I hope my installer did this. Lets assume he did....is it normal for this smell to persist? Will it go away eventually? Or does it need to be skimmed again? Or by way of draining my boiler over the next few weeks, it will take care of it self. There is much less residue the last time I drained.

Also...are these "fumes" harmful at all? Or just an annoyance?

Between the fumes and a couple of new bangs which we never had before, I'm regretting trashing my old dependable (but leaky) American Standard Boiler.
