As you nor I know what is in the sytem, we can't know if it is harmful or not and how fast it would drain away. Usually machining oils and cleaners are not harmful if installed by someone who keeps respect for occupants; but you don't know. Cleaning the system again is an option.

A boiler changeout loosens ancient crud and the new boiler steams at a much quicker rate, so it tends to 'steam clean' lines that had settled in over decades. You'll have to observe the operation to know the proper water level and cure for bangs.
