I prefer the Buderus and Crown Freeport CT. These are horizontal cast iron scotch marine designed high efficency boilers. They have swing out burner doors, horizontal flue passageways and no refractory to work about. This makes a cleaning and vacing the unit much easier. I think many techs are skipping a good vac since they have to spend too much time to take a verical flue boiler apart to get to the flue passages. I have a problem with letting my oil company put a boiler in. What interest do they have on you saving oil? Plumbers usually know plumbing and gas fired water heaters. Get yourself a hydronic heating expert who knows how to set up an oil burner right with the right combustion test equipment.
