My mechanical engineering consultant has proposed a new steel boiler system in lieu of the original cast iron boilers. His major reasoning for changing the system besides cost saving and effectiveness is that the cast iron boiler manufacturers (NY metropolitan area) for the past 4-5 years have been producing sectional cast iron boilers that have been malfunctioning. Just wanted to confirm that his information is accurate about poor cast iron production. Thanks.
