If he has water in abundance in the tank
there is a high probability of tank
seepage/leak. If that happens he may be
screwed royally when he trys to sell his
home. To the tune of tens of thousands of
dollars. Once the EPA gets involved in
NJ a homeowner no longer has control of
the situation.

All a prospective buyer has to do is get a
tank inspection before the sale, want the
tank removed, and reports seepage to the EPA
hotline number. The only way to sell your home
then is to close out the EPA claim number.
Follow all the tests, removal, and abatement.
And don't think that tank insurance from
the oil company will pay out anything.
