: You are correct. The only way that second thermostat can help to correct the problem is if is controlling a second zone valve. If the single zone valve is merely shifted to the family room zone, you will likely still have problems, except that now the other rooms will be too warm.
: Is it feasible at this point to replace the 1/2" piping with 3/4"?
