It is common practice to use boiler antifreeze in hot water circuits. You can lose 15% of the heat transfer; but if you have more than you need, it won't be noticed. The expansion tank might have to be larger as the mixture expands more than water alone; but that is not a large problem. After you have fixed all leaks, the antifreeze can be in there for decades.
