The NY Thermal Odyessy is a 3 pass cast iron boiler, slightly more efficent then the Peerless.
It does not offer a hot water tankless coil so an indirect WH must be used. The indirect is more efficent anyway and would allow you to cold start the boiler in the summer when only HW was needed.
I preffer a lower mass boiler since the excess heat in the water gets lost up the flue when the boiler shuts off anyway. The boiler also heats up faster to heat the indirect durring cold starts.
Outdoor reset which uses a temp sensor outside to lower the boiler temp water durring warmer outside temps to save oil. I don't think you'll save 30% since 2K gals for a large building in Maine doesn't sound to bad after this past winter. I don't recommend oversizing the boiler now and getting the indirect later, that will cause short cycling.
