Hi,

I have a boiler system the heat the house with hot water. There are two zones, but most of the house is on 1 loop.

I emptied out the system to have a pipe in the basement resoldered. To fill the system backup with water, I opened the main water valve to the system and let the air out of all the radiators. Now that I have filled it back up, I cannot remember if I am supposed to keep the main water valve on or turn it off?

I am guessing I keep the main water valve turned on, so that when bleeding the rads the system can replenish itself. So I kept the valave turned on. But if the main water is always on won't it fill the expansion tank?

Thanks,
Allan
