We had a small leak in the radiator stem valve in an upstairs radiator. Fixed that with some packing graphite. Had previously drained the radiators upstairs to make the repair. When we began to fill the system again with water, while bleeding the radiators of air. We were on the final radiator (the one we had just repaired) and BAM the expansion tank blew (also upstairs) and water began rushing everywhere. We have since stopped the water entering the system and by draining some of the other radiators upstairs the tank is no longer leaking although for awhile it was dripping from a pipe in the basement that intentionally goes over the laudry basin. I am new to the whole radiator system and to this house. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
