Noisy new Smith boiler

My condo association just replaced a 1918 boiler with a new Smith steam boiler. I live on the first floor and the boiler is right below my kitchen. The old boiler was relatively quiet but, with the new boiler, I feel like I am living on a boat. The floor vibrates when the system comes on and I can hear the noise going up through the chimney. The boiler cycles on and off with a very loud cycle, then stops for a minute, and then there is a quieter cycle. The whole thing repeats a few times before giving us 15 minutes or so of silence. There is plenty of new knocking in the pipes, too, but that subject seems well covered. Shouldn't the new furnace be quieter than the old one? What can be done to isolate the vibrations and noise?
