I have a one pipe steam heat system that was loosing quite a lot of water. I checked and changed all the vents and repacked the old valves but it still lost water. I finally discovered that there was a leak in the return line and had a plumber replace it. However, the original line was threaded steal pipe that he replaced with copper tubing. Do you think there might be a corrosion problem at the connection points between the different metals? If so, how long before I might have to worry about this?

I have found your site very useful in maintaining my system. This forum is as good as steam heat itself.
