You have to be able to read the current Set Point and the Room Temperature of the stat. You might go a degree or so over to allow a differential so that you don't short cycle on and off at a temperature. Otherwise if the room temp is over the setpoint the burners should go off. The boiler will cycle on/off with the pressure switch until the stat is satisfied and shuts it down. The problem is in the stat, wiring or operator error. The burners have no adjustment for on/off.
