Gas won't ignite

BE CAREFUL, IF YOUR MAIN GAS OPENS BUT DOESN'T LIGHT-OFF, THAT IS NOT SAFE. I assume this is an atmospheric burner (no fan). Many times there is a carryover wing or such to walk the flame over to the main burner. This keeps the pilot assembly out of the intense heat. Try to vacuum that area off. The burner might need to be lifted out and cleaned. If the pilot looks weak, it might need to be adjusted. The pilot assembly may have been pulled out of place somewhat by bumping the lines to it. See that it is firmly attached. It may need to be tipped into the gas flow. You can crank the stat up high to buy some time while the bldg cools.
