I still have the original early-1930's Thatcher steam boiler in my home. I believe it was converted from coal maybe in the 50's-60's? It can be a little cranky and it uses some water throughout the heating season. It has an aged Beckett burner. I try to have it serviced annually, but some of the guys said it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it. At this time of year, it takes a while to build up any heat. Do you think this oldy is done? I'm always worried that it is going to melt down in my basement, or fill the house with CO.
