What is the correct way to drain a boiler of a gallon or so of water without getting air in the system? Should each zone be drained if there is sediment in the boiler? I am ready to get the heating system going for winter.We had a new well pump installed this summer and had some sediment thru out the house. Everything was drained but the boiler. The system consists of a 7yr old crown boiler with auto water replenish valve, and base board heaters.
