While doing some research on radiators I came across the following statement "When boiling hot water meets cooler water, the radiator reacts by expanding and contracting, which causes knocking and banging sounds. In a one-pipe system, this problem can be alleviated by jacking up the radiator on the drain end so the water can flow out easily."
Is this info correct? If so, wouldn't jacking up drain end make water flow more difficult? I'm really radiator illiterate so maybe I'm missing the basic concept. Thanks for any help!
