In 25 years the only thing I have ever done with my furnace (the pilot is on all year) is to remove dirty water and add clean water every 2 weeks during the heating season. This past year I noticed the valve would not fully open when draining. I will either clean or replace this valve and wondered other than turning the gas and water off, does anything else have to be done? Also, because the gas and water will be off, should I do other maintenance at this time?
