Bids are related to local conditions and the quality of materials and workmanship. Without seeing every aspect of the installation, it is not possible to compare prices. For instance: An installer only does top quality work with all necessary equipment for a fully guaranteed long-lasting job. Another comes right after with a bid to do the money-saving job with ok equipment and every shortcut. How does the layman compare price? How does someone without a complete list of services give a comparison? A quality hot water system will last hundreds of years. Have the installer give a description of the system and the equipment offered, then compare quotes.
