I'm looking to convert a 4BR ranch from electric to hot water baseboard with an oil fired boiler, to include heating my domestic hot water. The house is built on a slab, and is about 1750 sqft.
I have gotten one bid back at about $15,000 and am having trouble getting bids from the other companies in a timely manner, but I am a little shocked at the one bid I have. There are no "big trouble" areas identified and no mention of anything that might elevate the cost.
Does this seem like a reasonable bid?
The house is worth about $75,000 doesn't 20% in a heating system sound a bit much?
