Yes, there are some amazingly efficient combination boilers made today. The new boilers can approach 100% greater efficiency than gas units of 40 years ago. I repeat that you will have to have a unit that has parts available in a reasonable time, from an installer that understands the unit, and is backed up by a local supplier.
Getting an esoteric boiler that can not be serviced in the future is not a good investment. There are several great units available; so contact your local installers and suppliers. they will give you a choice of available units.
