When I changed work from Stationary Engineer to residential service, it took a change in thinking. Installing a water meter before a residential boiler is one of the thoughts that one thinks about, then a look at the cost for a residential customer considering there should be no leaks at all - and the gurgling noises tell the homeowner of a problem. Boiler boilout venting, pressures, feedwater practices all change in the transition.
