If you want house heat and hot water at the same time, the Amtrol needs its own circulator to move water from the boiler outlet through the Amtrol heat exchanger and back into the boiler return. The coil in the Amtrol has a higher resistance than the baseboard loops, so it needs the power of the separate circulator to move water.
If you make the boiler heat the Amtrol on demand without heating the house at the same time, then the system circulator can move water through the Amtrol while the heat one valves remain closed. Then you will pipe the Amtrol heater as a separate zone with its own zone valve. A Taco zone valve control with priority water heating can control the installation.
