Electricity is now 3 times more expensive than electric heat. You may need to increase your electric service panel to provide electric heat, so the cost of installing electric baseboard may not be less that adding a loop. In the long run it may be more expensive due to rate costs.

Pex plastic tubing for heating porposes has few complaints, but it is flexible, so less attractive in open spaces.
