I'm on the south side of Philadelphia. I think the contractor went by the I=B=R rating of 571 sqft steam. So I think that makes sense. We still have the original configuration of 12 rads.
The new boiler stirred up a lot of rust etc, and was surging alot, has been skimmed twice. I also had to clean or replace most vents. There still may be two vents not shutting properly. Right now the vaporstat cuts out at 12oz and in at 3oz., but the system doesn't seem to hold pressure. At high pressure cutout pressure drops in seconds and vaporstat cuts back in almost immediately. This only happens after a setback. Normally the tstat cuts out before pressure is reached.
Could those 1 or 2 vents not shutting cause that cycling ? I bought out the supply at my local hdwe store, need to go find at least two more.
