first- your gauge glass should be about 2/3 full at a cold start up. if its out of sight drain some water out till it is at the right point.
the feeder is only or should only be a safty item, not a convienience item. shut the water off to it and go back to manually feeding when needed and see if that all takes care of the problem. then turn your feeder on again and if you flood the boiler again, you will know something is wrong with the feeder and you can call your installer back.i never heard of adding anything to the amp draw of a gas valve to set the anticipator but if the manufacturer says so, do it.
also check the instruction sheet for your low water cut off and ensure yourself that it was installed correctly.
