I just had a Mcdonald Miller low water cutoff with feeder installed on a new Burnham Independence IN-6 steam boiler. The water level in the gauge glass when the boiler is not firing is above where I can see it. When the boiler fires the water level comes down in the sight tube to anywhere between 1/2 and a 1/4. When the boiler is firing I can hear water in the pipes and the radiators (gurgling sound). And alot of water hammer and some spitting in two of the radiators. Is it possible that the feeder is putting too much water into the system and sending it up into the pipes and radiators. My installer said he installed the sight glass per the plans. Also I installed a Honeywell basic 2 wire thermostat the other day and it said to take the current draw off the gas valve and multiply it times 1.3. The current draw was .5 which means I would set the anticipator to .65. Does this sound right. Please help the WATER HAMMER keeps me up all night!! Thanks JT
