I am trying to learn how old my boiler is, what its efficiency rating is, and to get suggestions on whether and what to replace it with. I found the following information on it:
Kewanee
Rype R Boiler
Series 1X
No. 3RB
heating surface 177
Net Rating Mech fired 720,000 BTU
Hand fired 600,000
I t originally heated about 9,000 square feet, but about 1,500 of those square feet are now on a furnace central heat system.
Any information and suggestions would be appreciated.
