When under pressure try closing both valves on the guage glass, open the blowdown fitting on the bottom and open one valve at a time. Glasses can get to a point where you shut the valves, loosen the packing nuts and gently work the glass until you can move it up and then the bottom out and then brushing it. Measure and mark your boiler with the size in case it gets broken in the future. A heating supply house can cut them to length.
