We recently had a Burnham V1108 model boiler installed in our building (condo). The contractor installed a manual blowdown system that requires regular manual blowdown of the boiler, however their contract stated that there would be a "probe" type blowdown that would blowdown the boiler automatically.
When the contractor was contacted, they said that they did not recommend the "probe" type automatic blowdown and stated that the "manual" one is more expensive.
Which is better, a "probe" type blowdown or a "manual" blowdown? Also, which is more expensive...?
Thank you for any assistance.
